FAQ: How do I incorporate Gujarati into our day?
People often tell me they just don’t know where to start with teaching their native language to littles. They worry, is it too little? Is it too late? My answer is always a resounding NO! At TaariMaa, we believe that one new word learned is one new word to celebrate!
One easy way to incorporate Gujarati or Hindi to the daily routine with your little one is to start the morning off with the simple question: What day is today?
𝘎𝘶𝘫𝘢𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪: 𝘈𝘢𝘫𝘦 𝘬𝘢𝘺𝘰 𝘷𝘢𝘢𝘳𝘰|𝘥𝘪𝘷𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘺𝘰?
𝘏𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘪: 𝘈𝘢𝘫 𝘬𝘢𝘶𝘯 𝘴𝘢 𝘥𝘪𝘯 𝘩𝘢𝘪?
With the interactive design of our Magnetic Weekdays Poster, you and your child will move the accompanying “today” magnet to the correct day each morning..
What if you’re not familiar with those days of the week yourself? Not to worry, as the poster most prominently features the Gujarati|Hindi transliteration - it’s specifically designed this way because I too was in the same boat as many of you! There is beauty in learning at every age and also in admitting we didn’t know something!
Together with your littles, use this poster to make the connections between the Roman calendar days and the Gujarati|Hindi days of the week just like we did!
